I’m Adam Bartlett, an experienced general surgeon specialising in the comprehensive management of conditions affecting the liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, pancreas, stomach and spleen, including complex cancers. I use a wide range of surgical techniques, from minimally invasive and keyhole surgery to advanced robotic-assisted procedures, choosing the approach that is safest and most effective for you.

While I am based in Auckland, I also provide consultations in Queenstown and each year volunteer in Rarotonga, where I work alongside the local surgical team.  I continue to train and collaborate internationally so that you receive care informed by the latest surgical expertise and evidence.

I believe your recovery and long-term wellbeing are best achieved through a team approach.  Surgery may only be one part of your treatment plan.  That’s why I work closely with dieticians, physiotherapists, massage therapists and psychologists to support every aspect of your health – from nutrition and rehabilitation to pain management and emotional wellbeing.  Together we create a personalised plan designed to give you the best pathway back to health and to help you regain confidence in life after surgery.
